HVAC Service Areas in Pueblo and Pueblo County, CO

Pueblo Heating & Air connects you with a local heating and cooling technician in Pueblo, Pueblo West and the towns around them.

Towns we take requests from

  • Pueblo: The county seat on the Arkansas River. Older homes with boilers and wall heaters near Union Avenue, Mesa Junction and Bessemer, and newer homes with central air on the North Side, the Belmont area by CSU Pueblo and the South Side.
  • Pueblo West: The large community west of the city off US 50. Mostly newer homes with gas furnaces and central air on big, windy lots where dust and tumbleweeds find the outdoor unit. Permits go through the Pueblo County Building Division.
  • Colorado City: South of Pueblo off I 25 near the Greenhorn Valley. Higher and cooler than the city, so furnaces and heat pumps work harder in winter.
  • Rye: Farther up the Greenhorn Valley toward the San Isabel National Forest. Mountain homes here see cold nights early in fall, so heating gets a long season.
  • Beulah: West of Pueblo in the foothills. Rural homes, cabins and shops where ductless heat pumps often make sense for spaces the main system does not reach.
  • Avondale: East of Pueblo along US 50 and the Arkansas River. Farm homes and older houses that see hot, dry summers and blowing dust.
  • Boone: Small town east of Avondale. Its permits run through the regional building department along with the city of Pueblo.

Pueblo ZIP codes

Requests are welcome from every Pueblo ZIP code: 81001, 81002, 81003, 81004, 81005, 81006, 81007, 81008, 81009, 81010, 81011, 81012. Some of these are post office box or special use ZIP codes, so if you are not sure which one fits your home, just send your street ZIP with the form.

How heating and cooling change across the area

The city of Pueblo sits at about 4,692 feet in the Arkansas River valley. It gets about 12 inches of precipitation a year and long, sunny summers, with about 72 days a year at 90 degrees or above per NOAA normals. That puts real hours on air conditioners and swamp coolers.

Head west or south and the land climbs. Beulah, Rye and Colorado City sit higher in the foothills, where summers are milder and winter nights colder. Homes there lean more on furnaces and heat pumps built for cold weather. East of town, Avondale and Boone are lower farm country with hot, dusty summers.

Permits split by location too. The city of Pueblo and Boone use the regional building department, which is moving to the Southern Colorado Building Department name. Pueblo West and other unincorporated areas use the Pueblo County Building Division. A good contractor knows which office to file with.

Whatever town you are in, the visit starts the same way: a real diagnosis, a clear fix and price, and work done to code. Read how a visit works.
